"The key is not to standardize education but to personalize it, to build achievement on discovering the individual talents of each child, to put students in an environment where they want to learn and where they can naturally discover their true passions."     - Sir Ken Robinson, The Element

Outdoor Experiential Learning

Click here for COVID19 family field experience ideas.  Our students are frequently engaged in field experiences that give meaning and purpose to the curriculum. The Ryker Dattage Outdoor Education Fund provides financial support for opportunities that include experiences such as visiting Providence Canyon, water day at Merlin Olsen Park, shoreline science at the Great Salt Lake, electric car races on the Salt Flats, and service learning at Hardware Ranch Elk Refuge.

Colonial Days

Special Events

We believe students should be active participants in their education and that there must be an element of joy in the learning process.  Our teachers go the extra mile to create curriculum-based special events such as book celebrations, living wax museums, mountain man rendezvous, art murals, musicals, and colonial history days.

Teton Science School

Teton Science School 30 YEARS!

2019 marked the 30th consecutive year EBLS students attended Teton Science School--a tradition embedded deeply in our school culture. Each fall (with the exception of 2020) fifth graders spend four days at TSS.  This is a culminating experience students work towards from the time they enter kindergarten. Teton Science School engages students in real science, builds relationships, and provides leadership skills for our students--all of which pay dividends both in the classroom and throughout their lives.
